MP Julie Marson has spoken with pupils at Thorn Grove Primary School in Bishop’s Stortford about her job.
Local councillor Shane Manning, one of the school’s governors, invited Mrs Marson to talk with Year 5 pupils about her role as an MP and the work she undertakes to represent the town.
“I always enjoy going to our local schools and this one was no exception,” said Mrs Marson.
“I spoke about the role of an MP and answered questions from a knowledgeable audience.
“Thank you to Councillor Manning and the class teacher Mrs Hughes for inviting me. I was very impressed with the students and the school.”
Teacher Kate Hughes added: “The children greatly benefited from learning about the role of Parliament in our country and enjoyed finding out about the work of their MP, particularly in relation to the issues that are important to them. Thank you, Mrs Marson."
