As residents will know, I have been working with many local bodies to see an average speed check system installed on London Road in Hertford Heath.
Towards the end of last year, I asked residents to write to me to gauge support or opposition for such a system. I am pleased to say that the response was overwhelmingly in favour of the measure. I then made the necessary representations to those with decision-making powers.
To see the average speed check system become a reality, residents will shortly be asked to complete a qualitative survey as a final step of a due diligence process. This will be spearheaded by David Lloyd, our Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), with the assistance of the Parish Council. Should Mr Lloyd remain the PCC of Hertfordshire and there be no outstanding issues requiring resolution, Mr Lloyd would approve this average speed check system.
