Julie Marson, MP for Hertford and Stortford, officially reopened The Blackbirds pub in Hertford last Friday.
The pub underwent extensive renovations following a six-figure investment from the award-winning Stonegate Group.
Works included a full refurbishment, both inside and out, with new lighting, signage, flooring, furniture, design and decorations. The food and drinks menu has also had a makeover, introducing breakfast and Sunday roasts.
Ms Marson attended their launch party along with staff, local officials and other members of the community to celebrate and pull the first pint.
Commenting, Ms Marson said:
“It was great to attend The Blackbirds’ reopening after its impressive refurbishment – the pub looks brilliant and is a real asset to the community. I look forward to watching The Blackbirds go from strength to strength and wish Elaine all the best for the future.”
General Manager, Elaine, also said:
“We were absolutely delighted to have the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Julie Marson MP at our grand launch party, where they had the honour of pulling the first pints in the newly transformed Blackbirds. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing the details of our investment with them, and have loved hearing everyone's positive feedback of what has been done with the place. We have been thrilled to welcome back familiar faces and greet new ones since reopening our doors, and the team and I are beyond excited for the incredible times that lie ahead.”
