It is a true privilege to be writing this first of my monthly columns for the Hertfordshire Mercury as
the Member of Parliament for Hertford and Stortford. I would like to begin by thanking you for
placing such trust in me to serve you and be your voice in Westminster.
It has been non-stop since the election. I have hired a staff, set up an office, answered thousands
of letters and emails and started tackling some of the issues that matter most to you.
And we can’t forget the huge national changes over the past few weeks either. We have a strong
Government delivering for everyone, from the £15.9m increase in police funding for Hertfordshire
to the confirmation of a new Princess Alexandra Hospital and announcement of an extra £33
billion each year for the NHS over the next four years. And Parliament has finally voted to Get
Brexit Done. I will be using my position as an MP to ensure Hertford and Stortford is at the
forefront of Britain’s growth and opportunity post-Brexit and will report back on progress.
Finally, please remember that I hold regular Surgeries across the constituency to hear your
concerns in person. Details of all surgeries can be found at my website www.juliemarson.org.uk.
