I am aware of recent reports that Frontier Estates have apparently cancelled plans to build a new GP surgery at Stortford Fields.
My office has since been in contact with Frontier Estates. They say these reports are not accurate and that they are "committed to trying to find a way to deliver the surgery at Stortford Fields.” However, I remain deeply frustrated with the lack of progress and I have made my views known to them.
I have previously met with Frontier, developers Taylor Wimpey and with local NHS executives to try to reach a solution. I also raised this directly with the Primary Care Minister. In every one of these meetings I have urged all parties to do everything possible to make sure that this surgery is delivered. It is crucial that Frontier Estates upholds the commitments it has made both to me and to my constituents.
On behalf of the many constituents who will greatly benefit from a new GP's surgery in Stortford Fields, I will keep doing all I can to make sure this project is finally delivered.
